Root in Nature is now:
Same roots. New growth.
Five years ago, we planted Root in Nature. Three years ago, the GrowTH Network took root within it. Now, as we mark five years, we are growing into our name.
This evolution brings our courses, certificate program, GrowTH Network and research database together under one clearer identity that better reflects what we have become and where we’re headed.
Why GrowTH?
The GrowTHâ„¢ name began with our professional learning network and has come to represent much more of our work: accessible education, practical resources, research, continued learning and connection across the therapeutic horticulture field.
As GrowTH, we can communicate that work more clearly while continuing to expand therapeutic horticulture learning for allied health, recreation, care, education and community professionals.
What does this mean for you?
The name is changing, but the foundation remains the same.
Your courses, certificates, membership and learning history remain part of the same organization. You’ll continue to access the education, resources, research and professional support you know, now under the GrowTH name.
A clearer GrowTH identity also makes it easier for employers, colleagues and professional partners to understand the therapeutic horticulture learning represented by your courses and certificates.
Where we’re headed
Our vision remains the same: a world where everyone has opportunities to experience the restorative power of connecting with plants and nature.
As GrowTH, we feel more committed than ever to helping make that possible. We want therapeutic horticulture education to be accessible to more allied health, recreation, care, education and community professionals, and to equip our students and members with practical, evidence-informed learning, resources and professional support they can use with confidence.
As we grow, our values will continue to guide how we get there: nature connection, accessible growth, empowerment in practice and community belonging. By supporting more professionals to bring therapeutic horticulture safely and purposefully into their work, we can create more opportunities for people to connect with plants and nature.

Frequently asked questions
Is Root in Nature going away?
Root in Nature is evolving into GrowTH. This is not a new organization or a departure from the work we’ve been doing over the past five years. You may continue to see the Root in Nature name during the transition as we update our website, courses, resources and other materials.
What is staying the same?
A lot! GrowTH is the same organization, with the same leadership, team and commitment to the therapeutic horticulture field.
Our mission, vision and values remain the foundation of our work, along with our focus on accessible, evidence-informed education, practical resources and professional connection. Our courses, GrowTH Network, Research & Readings Database and other learning resources will all continue under the GrowTH name.
Why are you changing the name?
The GrowTH name began with our professional learning network and gradually came to represent much more of what we do. Bringing the organization under one name creates a clearer home for our courses, resources, research and professional community, and better reflects our growing international learning network.
Are your website, email or social media changing?
Our website is moving to growwithth.com, and our social media handles are changing to @growwithth. You may continue to see Root in Nature in a few places while we complete the transition. Existing email addresses will continue to reach us, so you don’t need to update your contact information right away.
Are my Root in Nature certificates still valid?
Yes. Certificates earned through Root in Nature remain valid records of your course completion. The name change does not affect the training you have already completed or the certificate you received.
Will the courses or GrowTH Network be changing?
The rebrand itself does not change the learning and professional support already available through Root in Nature and the GrowTH Network. We’ll continue developing courses, resources, research and learning opportunities as part of our ongoing work.
Will my course or GrowTH Network access change?
No. Existing learners and members will continue to access their courses, resources and community as usual. If a website address, login page or other technical detail changes during the transition, we’ll provide clear instructions.
